WHAT THE HECK’S A CEPHALID?
Millennia ago, an alien race known as Cephalids arrived on this planet.
Originally a virus, this race of creatures mutated over thousands of years to become a ravenous, intelligent species of monstrous proportions.
Through the creation of superior technology, the Cephalids quickly overwhelmed the dominant life form at the time, the dinosaurs, driving them to extinction without much of a fight. Despite their advanced technology, however, the aliens could not prevent a cataclysmic event that decimated the planet.
A select few Cephalids narrowly escaped into a network of dimensional portals known as The Weave. However, these escape artists did not get far, as the event that eliminated life on this planet also caused great destruction to The Weave, blocking all entry and exit portals and trapping its occupants between time and space.
On April 11, 2012, seismic activity centered just outside of Indonesia changed everything for the Cephalids. Small fissures were torn in The Weave, leaving just enough room for the Cephalids to slowly re-emerge. Their re-emergence has begun to wreak havoc on our fair planet. Civilian abductions have begun to occur at an alarming rate and small skirmishes have broken out between military units and single Cephalids.
While most humans who’ve engaged in these altercations have perished, the strongest have survived. Their stories about these creatures depict vicious monsters with enlarged craniums, compact bodies and a myriad of tentacles, small limbs, and cilia. These brave fighters have also shared their fear that these attacks are only the beginning. They believe there are more coming…a lot more.
